Free to play met with mixed reviews
The big news isn't just that Valve released a BR mode for one of the most influential games of the past decade, but that it went completely free to play.
A lot of players who already own the game are automatically upgraded to prime status allowing them access to prime loot, but the concerns of already existing players isn't mainly just the feeling of being ripped off. Sure they have the right to feel that way, they paid for something that is offered free of charge. No, the real issue most existing players are having is that CS:GO, a game that is well known to be plagued by hackers, is only going to have more hackers.
The argument is that now that the game is free there is nothing stopping hackers from simply making a new account after being banned. What is yet to be seen is the actual result and Valve's response to these concerns.
