Outer World Game Details
Players will have a chance to customize the character's appearance, but you won’t have a voice. According to the Leonard Boyarsky, the game’s co-creator, the team took an old-school approach to allow most of the resources to be focused on a complex narrative. They have a found a way to dynamically change the player's character, to make them an interesting hero as they are playing the game. The founders have designed it to reactive.
Once the player has progressed far enough into the game, you will have the opportunity to get your starship and crew. Your crew members can act as companions as well as offer opinions on your events and occurrences. In case you were wondering, there are no romance options. The story is focused around corporations. Players will have plenty of weapons at their disposal and items they can purchase for ten different brands.
Since Obsidian partnered with Take-Two with this new title before it was part of Microsoft, it won’t be a PC and Xbox exclusive. From the trailer, it evident how much Outer Worlds resembles Fallout. It doesn’t only have the same vintage vibe from Fallout, some of the outfits look like those seen on Fallout.
Microsoft having acquired Obsidian, there is no telling what its cash injection could do to the development of the team’s ambition. In case Outer World is a hit (we hope it is) we can hope for a lot more down the line, with more resources to make it galactic.
